My husband informed me last night that I hadn't posted to my blog in 10 days!! I couldn't decide if I was more surprised that it had actually been 10 days or that there was a slight tone of disappointment in his voice. He actually reads this??!! In his spare time??!! And not just when I email him a link to the blog so that he can read it and tell me how a particular post "sounds"??!!
My lack of blogging for the past 10 days is due to a whirlwind of events. First, I decided that I needed to take some time off from blogging and Facebook and spend that time in prayer regarding an important educational decision for our oldest son. Sort of a fast. After a decision was reached (I know what you are thinking, "What kind of 'educational' decision could you possibly be making for a 2.5 year old?". I will explain. Just not in this post.), I logged back on to blogger and FB and spent the next few days catching up on my peeps. Uhhh....and can I say what a difference a few days makes? I was only gone from the internet world for a few days and I logged on to find FB has changed formats and, from what I read, no one likes it. And then I find that two of my "regular" blog reads had also changed their layout. Sheesh, you guys were busy while I was away.
After satisfying my need to know information about people I barely know, the oldest decides to come down with a fever. And a green, snotty nose. And a cough which I feel sure will lead to the dreaded bronchitis and even worse..... the nebulizer. If anyone has any tricks to get a two year old (and a sick one at that) to use the nebulizer, I would greatly appreciate it. So he watched tv all day on Friday while it was........
.....SNOWING!! I don't know if you heard about it, but we had record snowfall here on Friday. And, me being the kind and sympathetic mother that I am, forced her fever-running, congested, coughing son out into the snow. The pictures and video that I took are pretty pathetic. But, I promise, he will thank me one day.
Despite the Big Boy's symptoms, the grandparents still agreed to come over on Saturday afternoon to keep the boys overnight while the hubby and I went to the Retreat at Lake Blackshear for a little Valentine's get-away. I was so looking forward to sleeping (and spending time with Rob ;)). I kept telling Rob, "We can sleep in on Sunday. Let's don't even worry about breakfast." And that was my plan. Until I found out that breakfast came with the stay. Free, basically. And then my practical/cheap/food-loving nature took over and I couldn't resist it. I made Rob get up and go to breakfast with me! I think I heard him utter, "I am never going to believe you again when you say, 'We can skip breakfast. Let's sleep in.'" I tried. I really did. But I just can't pass up a "free" breakfast.
And Ben? What has that sweet baby boy been up to these past 10 days? Well. He has decided to only take thirty minute naps. Thirty minutes. Three times a day. Yeah. It's been fun.
Since starting this post this AM, Andrew took a turn for the worse. After a two hour visit to the doctor, he has started antibiotics for an ear infection. I kept asking Andrew if his ears hurt. He always answered "No, my face hurts." Poor thing.
But, at least I have pictures of him in the snow.

I was wondering what happened to you! I hope Andrew gets better soon! I've got to call and get Clay a dr's appt this morning because he's been all snotty. Nothing worse than a snotty kid!! Poor things...
I am dealing with only TWO thirty minute naps!!! I can't complain too much because she is sleeping so good at night but still! And to make things more annoying she takes good naps for your mom and my mom but for me (who really would welcome a break) she only does thirty minutes!
Hope Andrew is better soon. Missed you yesterday.
