Ten Months

HOW
CUTE
IS
HE?

Drool and all, that is one cute 10 month old. And I am only a LITTLE biased. Being his mama and all. I could just eat him up.

Baby Ben, in two short months you will be one year old. My how this year has flown by. You have graduated to all table foods. And you love it! Just eating whatever your big brother eats. Speaking of big brother, you want to do everything he is doing. If Andrew is climing over a table, you are not far behind. If Andrew is dancing, you are grooving also. If Andrew is making silly noises, you are coming up with noises of your own. You love your big brother and I love that!

You are so not into walking. I try to hold your hands and let you practice taking steps, but you wiggle around in my hands before plopping back to the floor. You aren't really even into cruising. You have figured out this crawling thing and are just content with that for now. You have also figured out how to climb. Onto just about anything. My heart dropped the first time I found you on the couch! Under chairs and tables and into cabinets, nothing is off limits to you.

You are starting to develop quite the personality. Still a content happy baby, but you are beginning to show more of a dramatic, determined side to your personality. Just today, you were drinking out of Andrew's sippy cup. When I went to switch the cups to give you yours, you promptly shoved your cup away from you all while screaming and making the most sour face ever. Can I please note here that BOTH cups had water in them??!! But, you were only satisfied with Andrew's cup. Sheesh! When your climbing adventures cause you to get stuck, the whole neighborhood hears. And when Andrew is irritating you? (Which happens about every four minutes) You know just the squeal to get your mama's attention.

But Baby Ben. You are quite the cuddler. You like to be held for a few (or 30) minutes after you wake up. Or when you are hurt. Or mad. Or sad. Or bored. Or irritated. Or sick. You like to ride on my hip. But your perfered position? (Besides with Daddy. Who, if he doesn't hold you when you want to be held, will have to endure a crying fit.) Is just resting you head on my shoulder. It is sooo sweet and makes me want to hold you all day long. You sit up there, with your tongue stuck out (another new trick), and just.....ride.

And? I just let you stay there, resting on my shoulder. Because if I learned anything from your big brother (he teaches me tricks, too), it is that you won't want to do this forever. This is just a short, sweet season. And I am gonna soak as much of it in as I can.
