A Conspiracy Theory

They have it out for me.

Even though one only speaks in simple sentences and the other only communicates through crying and cooing, they have figured out a way to "tag team" the mama.

When one is down for a nap, the other decides to wake up. When one is playing contentedly by himself, the other is having a meltdown or a blowout. When one is happy to watch a movie, the other is spitting up all over my clothes. When one is happily nursing, the other is climbing the walls or destroying the house with boredom. Literally.

And worse than the "tag team"? Is the "double team".

Both are hungry, or fussy, or tired, or bored, or need a diaper changed.

Sometimes all I have to do is even think about taking a shower or a nap and their radars go off.

It is as if they somehow communicate to each other, "You want to take this one? Or should I? Whose turn is it anyway?"

Is this a brother-thing or a sibling-thing? I mean, surely I didn't conspire like this against my mama. Right?!

If it weren't so predictable, I would be completely frustrated (and honestly, I am sometimes!) all the time. You want to know what is comical? Even as I sat down to write this post, one was reading books with Daddy and the other asleep, the "sleeping" one decided to loudly protest.

Yep. They have it in for me all right.

I would laugh, except it's not really funny. It's just true. Good news, when you get to number three you're totally used to it and you just take a shower or a nap anyway.
