At his official 2 month check up (which we just had last week because the doctor had to reschedule his appointment), Ben weighed 14 lbs and 2 ounces. He was 23 inches long.
He coos and laughs alot these days. He especially loves it when I cluck my tongue. He thinks that is hilarious! Ben is very social and loves to be talked to. He is starting to become more interested in other people, besides mama. He is beginning to smile at his older brother and not just with a wary eye for the rambunctious older sibling. Ben has become very observant and will hold his head up and look intently around the room. He can tolerate tummy time, although I don't make him do this very often. He will sit for a few minutes in the Bumbo chair before wailing.
Ben has found his hands!! And he loves them!! Especially in his mouth!! Sometimes he even prefers his hands to his paci. When we are driving around town I often hear him in the backseat sucking on his hands--great self-soother!
He is still sleeping in the swing. It is just easier for the mama with him in there. I can put him in the swing, give it a push (I don't usually cut it on) and trust that he will fall asleep. Plus, our crib is still on the lowest setting from Andrew, and Ben screamed the one time I tried to put him in there. At least the swing is in his room, right?!
His five o'clock feedings were becoming a bit of a social hour which threw our schedule off for the whole day, so I have decided to cut them out. Yesterday morning was our first day without the feeding. He woke up at 4:45 and I put the paci in his mouth and gave the swing a push. He woke up again at 5:15 and I put the paci back in and.....cut the swing on! Terrible, I know. But he did sleep until 8:00!! And that is all I really care about at this point. Hopefully, we can continue this trend of not crying until he sleeps through this feeding all together.
Besides eating every three hours, he still is not on a set routine. It is kind of driving me crazy, being that I am a schedule/routine oriented type of gal. He takes naps here and there throughout the day, and never at the same time each day. I remember it took me until Andrew was 6 months before he was on a good nap schedule, so I am not panicking with Ben, yet.
He is still pretty easy-going. And cuddly. And his smile melts my heart!

You will never be judged by me for letting your baby sleep in a swing. I figure you can always undo whatever has been done when you get good and ready. At least you're getting sleep. That's fabulous!
