Brunswick Stew and Piggy-Back Rides

My family has a brunswick stew recipe that is the bomb! Really, it is better than any stew I have ever tasted. When I order stew at a bbq restaurant, I always compare it to this recipe. It is that good. The stew shows up on the table during most major holidays. And, I decided it was time that I learn how to make it.

With mama's help, of course. So, about a week or so ago, we made some brunswick stew. It's a two day process, ya'll. And, anything that takes two days to make, you know is gonna be good! Mama handled day one of boiling and browning the meat. The following day, she came to my house and we threw the remaining ingredients in a pot and let it simmer. All day. Seriously, it simmered about 6 hours. Then we filled about 9 quart bags full of the deliciousness and stuffed our freezers.

Check out the size of this pot of stew. The base of the pot was bigger than the biggest eye on the stove. That's a lot of brunswick stew!
Andrew has also learned about piggy back rides. Rob was the guinea pig in these pictures.
