We had family, good food, spent time at church, and Andrew received new clothes and toys! I even went to a Christmas Open House on Sunday at Shelby's Marketplace here in Albany.,
That was my weekend, ya'll! It made me yearn for the Christmas season. It was that good. Thank goodness it is November, and I can at least break out my Christmas music and decorations.
Rob's parents came into town on Friday afternoon. While Andrew was napping, we unloaded their trunk filled with hand-me-down toys and clothes for Andrew from my sister-in-law. He woke up to new toys and clothes!
On Friday night, we all enjoyed grilled chicken, squash casserole, crunchy coleslaw, bread and homemade whipping cream pound cake with my mom and Mr. Brad. Andrew loved having two sets of grandparents to play with!
Saturday was spent at Sherwood Baptist Church for the Fireproof Your Marriage Simulcast. It was GREAT. The speakers were so entertaining and relevant. Have I told ya'll we are joining Sherwood? That is a post in and of itself! We are so grateful that we have finally been led to this church home!
That evening we picked up barbeque (Rob's favorite fruit) and watched football. The UGA/FL game was the only thing this weekend that was NOT AT ALL like Christmas. I mean, if playing Florida is psychological for UGA, then the team needs therapy....that's all I have to say about that!
Sunday we were back at Sherwood. What a better place to spend the weekend, really!! We like this church because the preacher is not afraid to hold Christians, it's church members, accountable. We can pray for a revival in our nation all day long, but it starts with us; with Christians, with the church; with Me!
We hated for Sunday evening to come, but our weekend only made me more excited about the holiday season. I just may start decorating for Christmas early this year!
