I am always searching for easy recipes that don't require too much attention and or too many ingredients. I like recipes that are easy to assemble and can be put in the oven, crock-pot, or on the stove and be forgotten. My mom told me about this particular recipe a few months ago saying that she made it for us all the time when we were growing up. I did not remember the recipe until I began to smell this dish as it was cooking in my oven. Funny how we remember scents?!
For those of you who own "The Church Cookbook" (you know what I am talkin' bout, if you grew up at FBC Camilla!) you can find it on page 107 under the recipe titled "Chicken Breasts". If you don't own "The Church Cookbook", I will print the recipe below:
6-10 pieces of chicken breast (I usually do 2 boobs for us)
1 c. sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
Mix all ingredients, except chicken. Place chicken pieces in casserole dish; pour sour cream mixture over chicken. Top with 4-6 bacon slices (I never do this). Bake at 275 for 3 hours or at 300 for 2.5 hours.
This dish is easy to double, half, whatever. Also, I usually have all the ingredients on hand, so there is no need for a last minute dash to the grocery store. I serve it with rice and greens and call it a meal!!
Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite dishes!! I like to serve it with brown rice and green beans which are always on hand. For those interested in the bacon, I have also seen the chicken wrapped in bacon then the mixture poured over.
YUM!! I think I'll try it tonight!
