A few weeks (although it feels like months) ago, I visited the lactation consultant. Just to check on some "issues" we were having with nursing. As I explained his sleepiness, unwillingness to nurse longer than 7 minutes, and using me as a pacifier, she asked how old Ben was.
I replied, "I don't know. About three weeks."
She responded, "Okaaaay. When was he born?"
Me: "October 19"
Her: "That makes him a little less than two weeks. These behaviors are perfectly normal." (Although I am sure she was wondering about the "normalcy" of the mama who does not know how old her son is!)
Me: "Really? Not even two weeks? Are you sure? I feel like I have had him for forever! I mean, like smiling and sitting up should be occurring next week."
This may be a long year!
Honestly, he has been a joy of a baby. He has begun to laugh in his sleep, which is just the sweetest! And, for the most part, nurses and sleeps really well. Most of his "issues" are just my high expectations because I think he is older than he actually is! (Which, really, is only going to make him very successful in life!)And I am blaming him and his need to use me as a pacifier as the reason why I haven't updated my blog profile!
Poor kid, already feeling the effects of being the second child!

aww he is precious. how funny about not knowing the age... i do it too and i remember when mills was 6 months old i overheard jim telling someone she was around 2 months (now that's pretty bad!)
I still have to remind myself that Eli is a whole year and a half younger than Luke and that he's not supposed to be doing the things that Luke is doing.
Ben is so cute!
