Day 6: A New Problem

I just had to post this picture to remind myself of what a fun, silly, wonderful child I have. Because those definitely weren't my thoughts of him when he walked into my room this morning.

At 5am! While my game plan has been working to get him to stay in his bed to go to sleep, we are obviously having a problem staying in the bed after he wakes up......at, no before, the crack of dawn.

Each morning he has been waking up earlier and earlier. First 7, then 6:30, then 6, and this morning 5am.

I actually employed my game plan and he was put back in his bed until 6am. But, he never went back to sleep. He just played in his bed. I have a feeling this is going to be a long morning until nap time!

At 5:15 when he was crying for his "baby bed" and "hold Drew" (he sometimes calls himself Drew....he came up with this name by himself!), I almost caved and did both! But then I thought about how awful sitting outside my sons bedroom door at 5am would be if I were also getting up a few times a night with a newborn.

I will share with you my game plan at some point. It obviously still needs some tweaking.

In the meantime, I need some caffeine.
