Sometimes I forget I am pregnant. With chasing a two year old, managing a house, and caring for a husband I can easily forget that I am "with child". And then I sit for two seconds or eat a bite of food and I am reminded with swift kicks or punches. I love these!
Speaking of food, I have really been loving a grilled hotdog this summer. Yummy! When not pregnant, I usually avoid these fattening, but delicious, treats. But....now that I can "eat whatever I want" I try to eat a grilled hotdog at least once a week. Good thing Rob likes grilling.
The new baby obviously shares my love of food because whenever I eat, he starts kicking and punching. At least I am assuming that those "love taps" are an indication of his love of food! He even kicks when I go grocery shopping....I am not kidding! It's like he knows he is around food. (Okay this actually only happened once, but still!).
When I was pregnant with Andrew, he only moved when I was still for a few minutes. This has been true of this baby until this past week. When he decide to constantly be on the move! While it is reassuring that everything is going okay, this constant activity makes me a little nervous.
You see, Andrew is a bit of a wild man. "All boy" as most people say. He wakes up running and doesn't stop until he literally runs to his crib at night. He is very active. Which was great when I was trying to lose the last of those baby pounds (yes, still trying to lose the baby weight when Andrew was 18 months old!) because I could burn calories just playing with him. Actually just watching him play was enough to make me exhausted.
But back to the new baby. If he is more active in-utero than Andrew, does that mean that he will be more active than Andrew as a toddler??!! That is the thought that makes me nervous! How will I survive TWO wild men?
I joked about this to my pediatrician. He just laughed. Which did not console me at all. I guess the fact that he has 7 kids makes those of us who are freaking out with two a laughing matter.
Just wait, Dr. Wait until I bring my three year old and one year old into your office. We will see who is laughing then!
