Before I had children, I vowed that I would never let my child wear swimmies/floaties to play in the pool. This statement was largely due to the fact that I spent most of my summers teaching kids how to swim without floaties. While I still believe they provide a false sense of security around water......they are soooo easy!! And I was really without options this summer because he is too young to grasp learning how to swim on his own.
So we donned the floaties. And, once again, I did something I said I would "never do when I have children". But, we will be getting swimming lessons next summer. And, no, I won't be teaching him. Because, really, did you like your swimming teacher?

I love the 3rd picture (where he's floating on his back)! He's got the sweetest little smile in that picture!!
I have such great memories of swimming in your grandaddy's pool.
So cute! I also swore off swimmies before I had Elle. Now I'm not sure how we did it without them! She is learning to swim and doing really well, but she still wears swimmies just to play. Oh well, another thumbs up to the mom's who came before me;)
