You Can Also Spell LUCK: GRANDDADDY & MR BRAD

I decided to put my brown thumb to the ultimate test this spring. I have been known to almost kill even the most durable of house plants. The peace lilly and an asparagus fern. The good news is, I brought both back to life. Although, I don't know if the peace lilly is going to survive the latest episode of a toddler. I had just gotten it to grow more than the five leaves that were remaining after Bentley ate most of the plant when she was a puppy.....three years ago. Then, Andrew decided to sit on the poor plant, and the leaves haven't been upright since. I put extra soil around the base of the plant, propped the leaves up on furniture, left it outside in the sunshine for a day. And still droopy leaves. I am gonna keep it until it is legally dead, though. Mama gave me that plant when Rob and I bought our first house in Athens. It is kindof sentimental.

Anyway. Because I have been so successful with my houseplants, I decided to step it up a notch and try my hand at a small garden. Not in the ground, of course. I have to start out small. (And, Rob doesn't want me to ruin the grass). So, I present you with my container garden. From Left to Right: Bell Pepper, Tomato, Tomato, Bell Pepper. (And the random asparagus fern that I almost killed, but am currently reviving)
So you noticed that the first two containers are dented? Yeah, that would be because my husband ran over the plants with his truck. It's survival of the fittest around here. When it comes to plants, of course.

These pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago; before it started raining. All the veggies pictured above are about twice that size now. And I have two more bell peppers and three more tomatoes.
Of course, this garden came to fruition through alot of hard work. And for that I have to thank my granddaddy and Mr. Brad. Because, who am I kidding, all I have done is water the plants!
