Rob's parents have always said that they were not going to pick out a name for Andrew to call them. While they refer to themselves as G'Mom and G'Dad, they have never insisted that Andrew call them these names.
My mama, on the other hand, picked out the name "Gigi" for herself and "Pa" was Mr. Brad. We worked with Andrew on saying Gigi and Pa. And, he says them perfectly!
Long before Andrew could say Gigi and Pa, however, he came up with a name for Rob's dad. One of his first words, actually.
Na-Na. Yep, that is what Andrew has called Mr. Robert for months now. Pronounced "nah-nah"; with the 'a' sounding like ball and call. I don't know where he came up with this, but it is original. Originality is a marker for a genius, right?
Every grandparent had a name, except Rob's mom, Mrs. Jeanne! I would show him pictures of Rob's parents, and he would point to Mr. Robert and say, "Na-Na". Then he would point to Mrs. Jeanne and....nothing. He knew her, just did not have a name to go with the face.
All that changed this weekend. Andrew decided on a name for Mrs. Jeanne. And, this name definitely indicates genius-ness.
Yodi. Sometimes pronounced "ee-yodi". That is the given name for Mrs. Jeanne.
Wasn't Yodi a Star Wars character? Ya'll, he hasn't even seen the movie. See, I told you he was a genius!
Forget grandmother and grandfather. This kid is growing up with Gigi, Pa, Na-Na, and Yodi!
