Been Busy Much?

This post could be real short, and I could sum up the month of May with three words: I've Been Busy. We have had weekends out of town, weekends in town with out of town family, and now, this weekend, my ten year highschool reunion. In fact, we have only had one weekend this whole month where we were in town "doing nothing". And, that "doing nothing" weekend turned into a dinner party for 14... at my house, a day of yard work, a dinner out, trying a new church, and then a birthday dinner in Camilla.

I guess you know it is summer when you just stay so busy. And, when did it take me, like, a WHOLE week to just prepare for a weekend? I feel like weekdays revolve around trying to get ready for the weekend. How can it take me an entire week to pack/plan for a weekend? Does anyone else have this problem?? I don't know if I can blame it on Andrew......

This past weekend, Rob's parents came into town to keep Andrew while we drove to Memphis, TN (8 hours, 490 miles.....each way) for a wedding. A college roomate of Rob's was getting married. The groom and his bride are competitve salsa dancers, so naturally, their first dance was a salsa dance. Needless to say, their dance left the crowd speechless. It was awesome!! The bride even changed into a white salsa dress with sparkly silver dance shoes! Then, their team-members joined them on the dance floor and the salsa dancing that ensued was jaw-dropping! It made me want to sign up for salsa lessons.....Rob said he would not be joining me.

We came home yesterday and enjoyed Andrew for a bit before he had to go to bed. It was so nice to hold and see him. He had grown and changed so much in the short time that we were gone. And, he has new "tricks". Like waving "hi" and "bye" and singing.

We topped off the weekend today with grilled hotdogs and chic-fil-a cole slaw, tea, lemonade, and brownies. The weather was so nice we were even able to sit outside. What a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Also, thank you so much for all of your comments and suggestions regarding Andrew rolling over on the changing table and food ideas. I have employed everyone's expertise advice!! However, my mother-in-law takes the prize. When we got back from our weekend get-away, she had solved the problem: she tells him exactly what she is going to do (change his diaper) and reminds him that he is not to roll over. Then she sings him a song and gives him a toy while she is changing his diaper. If he starts to roll over, she tells him "No rolling over". Of course, I had to witness this phenomena for myself. And, that rascal, he actually MINDS her.....stays on his bottom, flat on his back, barely moves an inch as she changes his diaper!! It is a miracle, really.

Now, the grandparents left about 2:30 this afternoon, and he has minded me on the changing table so far using this tactic.....I just hope both he and I can keep it up!!

Yay, Andrew! And Yay, Grandma! Doesn't it always amaze you and make you want to smack yourself on the forehead when it's so simple like that?
