On a Lighter Note

Peek-A-
 BOO!
I thought it was time to update ye' old blog. Mainly because I was tired of seeing the last post popping up when I opened my blog. You know, the one where the boys were up at 5am. And I decided it was a good idea to let the whole world know at 7am how much that frustrated me?! Yeah. That one. Not one of my prouder blogging moments. Note to self: if your boys are ever up at 5 am, and you are in a terrible mood....blogging may not be the best idea.

All that to say, I really did appreciate your ideas for how to handle the situation, more gracefully, if when that happens again.

And this post isn't totally pointless. Actually I have two points:

#1. We are attempting to moving to an all-cash system. You know, Dave Ramsey stuff. While we didn't take the course, we did listen to a few cd's that my friend loaned me. And I hound consult that same friend almost weekly with my questions and how-do-you-actually-do-this?-tpye stuff. Let me tell you, it ain't easy. Last month was our first try at going all-cash. And by the 10th? When I had spent over half the money (and used all of our babysitter money on the 2nd!!), I knew it was going to be a long month. But, Rob and I both feel that the Lord really wants us to get our finances in order. God has blessed Rob with a great job that has allowed us to live almost debt free (mortgage only), but we still found that we were dipping into our savings every month. So we needed to get back on track and start living with in our means. This month will be tough with Christmas and birthdays, but we are determined to make this work!!

#2 . I haven't scrubbed my toilets in a year. Or mopped the floor. Or even dusted our furniture. I am hoping by now you have realized that Rob blessed this family with a housekeeper for a year, and not that my house is actually that dirty! And how I loved, loved having someone 2x a month to help me keep this abode tidy. But we quickly found that with our all cash system, there just wasn't room in the budget for that luxury anymore.

So this past month has also been spent trying to find a balance between managing our money, cleaning our house, and entertaining our two boys. Who, on occassion, wake up at 5am.
