Eight Months. Eight Months. Eight Months! I guess the big accomplishment for this month is crawling. He started out so slow. Just creeping. I was even able to catch the first little crawl on video. But he has begun to speed up. And crawl to the peace lilly, dvd player, and Andrew's little potty with amazing speed. I am going to have to keep my eyes on this one. And remember the little things in my house that need to be baby-proofed.
He is trying to pull up on a few low objects. Like the tub....fun! And, Andrew's little blue chair....even more fun! Speaking of things that are Andrew's, those are the only objects Ben wants to play with. I will put his own "safe" toys cars in front of him while Andrew and I play with the Matchbox cars. Is Ben satisfied with the "baby" cars? Nope. He crawls straight to the big boy cars, grabs one, and shoves it in his mouth. And then Andrew gets upset. This is pretty much how it goes now in our house.
If I take said car away from Ben, a crying fit is sure to follow. When did he start getting mad if you take something away from him?
He has just started making some consonant sounds. Although I can't tell if it is "la-la-la", or "da-da-da", or "ba-ba-ba". But it is something.
Want to know my favorite part of his crawling? He will crawl up to my lap. Sometimes he just wants to sit in my lap and play. But other times it is because it is time for food or a nap. But, any way, it is too sweet that he knows to crawl to me to get his needs met.
Very recently he has started having a touch of separation anxiety. When I drop him off at the Y or during naps. He is still sleeping pretty well during naps and nighttime.
I have given him a fair amount of finger foods. Toast, puffs, Cheerios, bread, french fries, saltine crackers. When I put him in the highchair, he immediately starts slapping the tray looking for something to grab. His main meal is still babyfood that I make. Well the veggies that I make.
He is still nursing. And my goal is to make it to ten months. But it is beginning to wear on me. I might be struggling to get to 10 months, but I know myself and I know I will do it.

Cute! And I am definitely NOT looking foward to Judah crawling. We didn't have small pieces when Eli started crawling b/c Luke was still so little. This will be fun...
