Seven Months

Where has the time gone? I love the saying that I read on someone's blog, "The days are long, but the years are short." Boy, do I feel that statement everyday with a rambunctious two year old and a seven month old who can't wait to be just like his big brother. Somedays it seems as if 7pm will never arrive; yet, when I look back at pictures as recent as Easter even, I realize how precious this time is that I have with these two. When they are almost three and seven months.

What has Ben been up to in the last month? I am glad you asked. He is still the most content baby. Just happy to play on the floor with toys. Or trying to take his older brother's toys. Which is not mama's favorite game. Besides the, "No, Ben. Not play with my toy. Maaaaamaaaa!", there is also the potential choking hazard that I now have to worry about whenever Ben successfully grabs Andrew's toys. Because you know they are going straight to the mouth.

He is enjoying eating a variety of baby food. I make most of his veggies but am buying jars of babyfood fruit. So far, he will eat most anything. And, if he doesn't care for a particular veggie, I just mask the taste with applesauce. And I am so not worried about it! I think I am going to try very soft finger foods soon because he keeps eyeing our table food.

He is getting closer and closer to crawling. And is beginning to get frustrated that he is only going backward! He moves around alot in his sleep and I always find him in interesting positions in his crib. Speaking of sleep, after a brief week setback, he is again sleeping 11 hours at night and taking two 1.5 hour naps a day. Glorious!! I love it that God designed babies to require so much sleep. At least my babies anyway.

Ben still loves to blow raspberries. Especially with a mouth full of food. Lovely. Especially lovely when we are eating and then rushing out the door to run an errand. And I don't have time to change clothes.

The social butterfly is still nursing, but only briefly at each feeding. Apparently there is too much to see and too many toys to play with. I have introduced the sippy cup of water to keep that boy hydrated because we all know how hot the spring and summers are down here.

He loves the water. Taking baths with his big brother are a huge treat. And, playing in the pool? I think he could do it all day. Which is good because we are planning on spending alot of time at Gigi's pool this summer.
